“Man perishes; his corpse turns to dust; all his relatives pass away. But writings make him remembered in the mouth of the reader.”
If you are interested in reading ancient Egyptian texts in English, this anthology by Toby Wilkinson (Cambridge University) looks like a good place to begin. I'm delighted to see many familiar texts being included in the collection, and am interested to see improvements to the first translations of these works, because some of the earlier ones are pretty heavy going, even for those formally studying the subject. Definitely one to add to your reading list if you love ancient Egypt and Egyptology!
