Oldest, Longest Ancient Egyptian Leather Manuscript so far

The structure and contents of Egyptian religious texts - funerary texts in particular such as the Book of the Dead (Book of Coming Forth By Day) - always suggested that some kind of master reference books were being used. This leather roll may be an example of such a book.

    William Stibbs Funerary texts often describe the creatures (supernatural beings, like minor deities, monsters, demons and so on) thought by the ancient Egyptians to inhabit the Underworld.
